The reluctant Hero - CHPT7 - Rivaille/LevixReader

“What are you doing with that folder?” Rivaille snarled as he slowly approached you.
“W-well you see, Commander sent me to get it for him.” You lied slowly backing away as he approached you. “Anyway aren’t you meant to be running the workshop?!” You quickly pointed out.
“That doesn’t matter at the moment. What matters is what you have in your hand. Give it back.” He demanded with a scary expression on his face.
“Why? Is there something you don’t want me to see?” You guessed as you began opening it.
“STOP!” He yelled leaping at you, taking you down. The papers within the folder scattered everywhere. Your face was flushed noticing Rivaille hovering above you.
“U-um…. Well this is awkward.” You paused. “C-corporal?” You called as it seemed like he was daydreaming into your eyes. “Corporal” you repeated, still no response. You took a deep breath in, “CORPORAL!” You yelled, he finally snapped out of it.
“W-what?” He stuttered as his cheeks were tainted pink. The door swung open. You looked to find Eren glaring at you with a shocked face.
“I’ll clean up later.” He quickly made his escape, slamming the door behind him. Rivaille finally got off of you.
“I think its best that you leave.” He whispered as he turned away from you. Without another word you got to your feet and ran out only to find Eren standing in the hall figuring out what to do. He turned around to face you.
“Um-um I’m sorry for interrupting you two.” He stuttered whilst blushing.
“It was an accident…. Corporal being on top of me that is.” You explained. It was silent for a minute or two.
“I better head back to the workshop. Please don’t say anything to the others about this.” You begged, in response Eren smiled and nodded as you dashed off.

The workshop went on for the whole day and soon enough, it was the evening. Everyone retired earlier than usual, however you couldn’t sleep. 3 hours flew by yet you couldn’t get to sleep, and so you got up and got changed into your uniform. No one was around headquarters and with that you knew it was the best time to go into town to visit your sister.
Once you reached the town it was filled with people drinking. There were fights occurring in alleyways and everything. You eventually got through the crowds and made it to the bar where your older sister works at.
“_____!” Your sister called, gesturing you to come over. You approached the bar making your way past drunken men.
“Hey, (sis/name)” You smiled in reply.
“I was wondering why you were here but I can see it in your eye.” She chuckled. “You can’t sleep because of a guy isn’t it?” She accused.
“How the heck do you know that?” You blushed.
“Because a certain Corporal comes to this bar keeps asking about a certain bartender’s little sister.” She chirped. Your eyes widened.
“Wait. What?” You were completely confused, one Rivaille knows your sister and two he’s asking about you.
“Humanity’s most strongest has gotten an interest in you. So what’s the problem?” She paused “Also if you don’t want to get caught tonight you might to run within the next 10 minutes.” (sis/name) hinted.
“The thing is everyone keeps telling me to confess. But I can’t. What should I do?” You begged.
“I’ll hint it to him, also have you tried jealousy? That can be quite affective to a man you know.” She giggled. You smiled and then ended up giggling with her.
“You’re right, thank you. I could try” You were cut off.
“____, you might want to run now. The corporal has arrived.” She announced.
“Shit!” You cursed.
“Quick, go through the back I’ll distract him as you make an escape.” She ordered as she nodded to a co-worker.
“Thank you!” You sighed in relief running out the back.
You ran all the way back to headquarters without looking back. Luckily no one in headquarters saw you and no had even noticed you were gone. You realized you could finally sleep without any worries.

------------ Rivaille’s POV -------------
I entered the bar only to be greeted by one of workers. “Hi Corporal! How’s it going? You’ve been visiting more frequently lately. Something on your mind?” She questioned.
“It’s been a long couple of days and the expedition is tomorrow. So I thought I better have a couple of drinks before going.” I admitted not mentioning about _____ or talks with (sis/name). I noticed (sis/name) waving me over. “Excuse me, it looks like (sis/name) want to speak to me.” I passed by her and headed to the bar.
“Hey Corporal! The usual?” She asked.
“Sure.” I sighed. She quickly got me a glass of whisky and placed it in front of me.
“I heard the expedition is coming up, right?” She confirmed.
“Yeah, It’s tomorrow. _____ will be safe. She’ll be in centre of the formation with me, my squad and the Jager boy.” I explained.
“You know that _____ and I have an older brother. If anything happens to her he’ll kill you. And that’s only if you make a move on her. Where I’m more than happy for you two to be together. But if she dies out there, I want you to promise me, tell her how you really feel beforehand.” I could see the anger and sadness in her eyes. Then they returned to normal. “But anyway, ____ was here a moment ago.” She chuckled.
“She was here?” I was confused, she was meant to be sleeping.
“Yeah, she couldn’t sleep because of a certain guy.” (sis/name) confessed with a smile on her face.
“Do I know him?” I demanded I could feel the rage and hope rage inside me.
“Well, you should do. He is in the Scouting legion after all. From what I hear she likes his dark hair, his determined eyes, he’s kinda short but she doesn’t mind also the way she was comforted by him the other the night. He’s even in the centre formation for the expedition. She has a crush on him so she asking me for advice.” She clarified. Does that mean ____ likes Jager? I finished my drink quickly and began walking away.
“I got to go. I’ve got to get ready for the expedition.” I told her as I walked out, bottling up the rage inside of me. ‘Jager I won’t let you have her’ I thought.

------ (sis/name)’s POV ----
As soon as Rivaille left, Gwen, my co-worker approached me. “Corporal seemed a bit angry, what did you say to him.” She asked concerned.
“Oh, I just made him jealous of himself.” I laughed, she joined in my laughing fit too.
“He must really like your sister, if he’s seriously angry.” She suggested.
“Yeah, I’m guessing that he thinks that ____ likes Eren Jager. He was talking about how she was clinging to him when storm occurred the other night, but at least he will tell her his feelings soon enough.” I explained.

You woke up to the sound of knocking on the door. “Cadets! Time to get up and prepare yourself for the expedition. Breakfast will be ready within 20 minutes.” A voice shouted from behind the door. You slowly got out of bed and began getting changed as well as Mikasa and Sasha.
“Hey, ____. There’s a letter here for you.” Mikasa notified you handing you the letter.
‘After the breakfast come to my office. Corporal.’ You read. “I wonder what he wants.”  You asked yourself aloud.
“Maybe he wants to go over the expedition plan or something?” Sasha shrugged as she was reading the letter over your shoulder.
“Maybe.” You sighed placing the note on your bunk.
The three of you left the room and headed to the cafeteria seeing a scared faces almost everywhere, some of them couldn’t eat there breakfast because of fear. You felt sorry for them. You got your food and headed to the usual group.
The group wasn’t as talkative as usual it was silent, no one could think of what to say. We all ate in silence, the whole hall was silent, but you could feel tension and fear. You couldn’t take it anymore, you walked out of the cafeteria and into the hall the next door where a piano was. You took a deep breath and began to play.
You played a melody everyone knows, known as Crimson bow and arrow. You could hear the soldiers quietly singing along. Their voices became louder and louder, loud enough to be heard throughout the whole headquarters. You could hear the fear turn into joy and confidences. The song ended and you returned to the cafeteria seeing people clapping and laughing. Everyone wore a smile; you couldn’t help but smile too. With that mission achieved you left and headed to Rivaille’s office as requested.
You knocked on the door. “Come in.” Rivaille commanded, you slowly entered and closed the door behind. He signalled you to come closer. You approached his desk and sat down in the chair in front of it.
“What do you think of Jager?” He demanded.
“U-um well he’s a nice guy and caring.” You described.
“How do you feel about him?” You realized his tone was angry.
“Huh? Well, I like him. But not in a romantic way just as friends.” You assured him.
“Your sister told me you liked him!?” He was furious the look in his eye seemed like you were his girlfriend who was cheating on him.
“What? What were her exact words?” You asked.
“She said: ‘from what I hear she likes his dark hair, his determined eyes, he’s kinda short but she doesn’t mind also the way she was comforted by him the other the night. He’s even in the centre formation for tomorrow’s expedition. She has a crush on him so she asking me for advice.’” He mimicked. You facepalmed yourself.
“Corporal, you’re an idiot to fall for one of my sister’s tricks of jealousy.” You stated.
“What?!” He yelled.
“You’re jealous of yourself. She was talking about you not Eren.” You cleared the misunderstanding. Silence filled the room, you wasn’t sure what more to say, neither did Rivaille. You got up and headed to the door.
“_______, there’s something I need to tell you.” He paused. “I’m in love with you, ____.” He confessed.
